“Fitness can’t hurt”.

Unless you hurt yourself with fitness.

Exercise is my #1 mental health tool, but it’s also my most vulnerable.

One injury or sickness & my “medicine” is useless.

Casually prescribing newbies generic fitness for mental health is as shortsighted as it is reckless.

It takes years to master fitness safely.

Beware of anyone willing to leisurely advise high risk solutions without discussing risks.

What are the risks? Well, injuries are the obvious ones.

Injuries can last years, even lifetimes. Think you’re depressed now? Try living with debilitating chronic pain.

Cavalier advice often doesn’t stop at fitness, it’s part of their whole flawed approach:

“It worked for me so it must work for you”.

Patients beware.

PS not everyone gets runners-high.
