So many “updates” in tech are redundant shifts merely in place to justify costs & employment.

Lateral changes no one really asks for.

This perpetual impermanence negatively impacts employees & customers… aka burnout.

Just 4 years in coding obliterated my desires with the worst burnout I’ve ever witnessed; my own or in others. It was soul-sucking.

I had to take a full year off away from computers entirely. Just touching a keyboard would churn my stomach.

Starts to feel like the whole thing is broken, held together by duct tape, sticks & greedy nonsense.

Behind every line of code changed is someone making good money. The incentive isn’t always achieving better, it’s just frothy money churning hands to keep employed.

I never fully recovered to be honest.

My experience with a broken mental health system feels very similar.
