Einstein quotes that apply to the cowardice that is enabling/evading family mental health & addiction:

  • “Mere words do not get pacifists anywhere. They must initiate action.”
  • “The world is in greater peril from those who tolerate or encourage evil, than from those who actually commit it.”
  • “Silence would have made me feel guilty of complicity.”

Of course, Einstein wasn’t speaking about mental health or addiction. But for anyone raised in the war that is evaded mental illness (by self or by family), they know all too well these same concepts apply.

The problems ignored by one person eventually become the problems of someone else. Except worse as they perpetuate through time hardened by neglect. Oak tree roots reaching deep. Their avoided failures become our eventual problems.

Pacifists without action face a parasitic dilemma: their inactions depend on the actions of others to exist.

Catch someone falling. Stop the Loss. Even if it’s just yourself.
