(30 sec read) It’s important to manage the expectations of medicine and mental health therapy. The solutions aren’t always in the treatments, it’s in the work the treatments provide. Therapists and psychiatrists are often expected to “fix” people. But that’s unfair to the mountains people ask them to climb.

While a lot is broken in mental health and needs improved, ( I’m hurt and angry) we are lightyears ahead of our archaic past (shock therapy?).

So while I critique the many problems publicly, I want to add my gratitude for the people out there trying to help every day selflessly. The burden of communal stress carried is a heavy gravity to live with. thank a therapist today if you can. 🙃
